Express Entry
Express Entry, the new Canadian immigration selection system, is not an immigration program. It is a system used by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) that strives to make the immigration process simpler and quicker for candidates.
As of January 2015, there is a new system to manage how people with skilled work experience apply to immigrate to Canada. It is called Express Entry.
Express Entry is a two-step process, and our team can help you achieve your Canadian immigration goals through out the process.
Step 1) Potential candidates complete an online Express Entry profile:There is no cost to complete and submit an Express Entry profile.
Step 2) The highest-ranking candidates in the pool will be invited to apply for permanent residence:
Based on their profiles, candidates will be ranked against others in a pool. On a regular basis, CIC will issue invite top candidates from the pool to apply for permanent residence. Only those who get an Invitation to Apply from CIC will be able to apply.
Under this new system, most complete applications will be processed in six months or less.
You must use Express Entry if you want to apply:
-
under the Federal Skilled Worker Program,
-
under the Federal Skilled Trades Program,
-
under the Canadian Experience Class, or
-
as a provincial nominee, in some cases.
Additional Information
Entry into the Express Entry pool does not guarantee a candidate will be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence. Invited candidates still have to meet eligibility and admissibility requirements under Canada’s immigration law (Immigration and Refugee Protection Act).
